A new entry-level SUV called “Ford Territory” will be arriving next year. The vehicle is jointly developed by Zhianglin Motors Corp LTD. It is based on a model of SVK that is made to cater to small cities in China and will compete with some of its local models from Geely and the Great Wall Motor.
According to Ford, they will be launching about 50 new or redesign vehicles in China starting this year until 2025. Ford’s territory will be part of this plan along with the redesigned Ford Focus, which will arrive later this year.
While Ford hopes that the territory will help increase its sales, they also enter the market where the demand for a small SUV as the territory starts cooling in China, so it will be interesting to see where it goes for them.
